All media are informed that the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs will tomorrow, Tuesday, 10 June, visit the village of Mpheko, Mthatha, where eight villagers were reported to have died from vomiting and diarrhoea. These deaths have been linked to use of unhealthy drinking water in the village.
The Minister will receive the latest briefing on the state of investigations being undertaken by the department in collaboration with the province and local government.
