Human Settlements Minister, Tokyo Sexwale will hand over 509 housing units at the Thornhill Integrated Human Settlements project in the Eastern Cape.

This follows an undertaking, in April by the then MEC for Human Settlements in the Eastern Cape and contractors, during Minister Sexwale’s visit to the area that they will build at least a 100 houses per month to prepare for the Minister’s return to launch the project in November.

The 509 subsidised housing units mark the completion of phase one of the project.  However, the project remains at risk due to a lack of bulk infrastructure development in area as mentioned by the Minister in Parliament two weeks ago.

Venue: Thornhill, Port Alfred, Eastern Cape
Date: 7 December 2010
Time: 11h00
