MEC Zoleka Capa to brief the media the role to be played by the Rural Development Agency

The MEC for Rural Development and Agrarian Zoleka Capa cordially invites members of the media to a media breakfast to outline the role of the newly formed Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA) will be outlined.

The ECRDA was formed by amalgamating Eastern Cape Rural Finance Corporation (ERFC), which was supporting farmers through its Uvimba and Vulithuba schemes and Asigisa-Eastern Cape that used to plough for communal farmers.

The first task of the ECRDA will be to ensure that communal arable lands across the length and breadth of the province is ploughed during this current ploughing season and the Honourable MEC will be giving the breakdown of hectares to be covered in each district.

The Honourable MEC also seeks to outline other benefits the communities will get through the amalgamation of these entities and how the communities can access them.

Members of the media are urged to form part of this briefing, which will also be platform to engage with the department of other relevant issues.
