MEC Vadi to visit Sinkhole Rehabilitation Project on the (N14) road from the R500 turn off to Carletonville

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will tomorrow visit and go check progress of the R128 million rehabilitation project on the N14 road about 18 km north of Carletonville. The process of addressing the sinkholes in the road reserve has started and is expected to end in July 2013. After completion of the new upgraded road, motorists would benefit from the shorter travel distance and a much safer travelling environment than before.

The project scope includes the rehabilitation of the road, improvement of existing pipe culverts, adding culverts and providing concrete lined side drains at portions of the road where it is situated at shallow gradients, repair sinkholes and provide dolomitic grouting, construction of pavement layers, erecting new road signs and providing road markings as well as formalising intersections.
