The North West MEC responsible for Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Boitumelo Tshwene, will on Thursday, 21 April 2011, present the department’s budget vote speech at the North West Provincial Legislature.
In his address, MEC Tshwene will present progress made in relation to his department’s developmental agenda as set out at the beginning of the previous financial year. Tshwene is also expected to reveal the department’s priorities for the current financial year.
MEC Tshwene’s speech will feature amongst others, the department’s plans regarding the establishment of a Fruit and Vegetable hub, as part of its pursuit of a prosperous agriculture. MEC will also give a report on the implementation of Comprehensive Rural Development Programme in the province and its plans for this financial year.
