MEC Shongwe visits Mozambique authorities to discuss cross border crimes

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe will from 6 to 9 June 2012 visit the Mozambique authorities to discuss cross border crimes affecting the country.

Rhino poaching, stock theft and vehicle smuggling to neighbouring countries such as Mozambique and Swaziland through illegal crossings is amongst the major crimes affecting Mpumalanga.

During his visit, the MEC will also discuss the issue of road accidents involving Mozambique registered vehicles in the country as it increases the statistics of road accidents in the province.

These discussions will assist in finding solutions to deal with these problems.
