Safety and Security Imbizo postponed
Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison would like to announce that the Safety and Security Imbizo has been postponed to Saturday, 15 September 2012.
The predicted bad weather has forced the department to shift the Imbizo as it is expected to continue until Saturday.
As part of enhancing community participation in safety and security matters, Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe will lead a Safety and Security Imbizo at Masoyi in Mbombela Municipality.
The Imbizo is part of government’s ongoing efforts to mobilise communities in the fight against crime whilst ensuring that their views on government’s programmes are taken into consideration in the implementation of programme of action and development of policies.
MEC Shongwe will be accompanied by South African Police Services Provincial Commissioner General Thulani Ntobela, and Justice Crime Prevention Cluster (JCPS) departments.
The Imbizo is planned as follows:
