MEC to share Gauteng's strategy on environmental issues

Gauteng Agriculture and Rural Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza will on Thursday, 1 December 2011, hold a media briefing session to share the province’s position and strategy on environmental issues.

The 17th Congress of the Parties (COP17) Climate Change Conference is currently under way in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal placing environmental issues in the spotlight.

The Gauteng Provincial Government is committed to encouraging the people of Gauteng to mitigate against and adapt to climate change to ensure the environment is protected.

The MEC will also discuss issues of acid mine drainage and report on progress with regard  to the roll-out of solar water geysers during the session.
