Tomorrow, 23 February 2023, Western Cape MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen, will embark on various safety initiatives in parts of the West Coast District.
These include the following:
- Safety awareness walk with the Rural Reaction Unit in Kalbaskraal and Chatsworth, Malmesbury,
- Unannounced SAPS station visits to selected police stations,
- Vehicle checkpoint (VCP) Saldanha Bay municipal area and
- Engaging the Tabakbaai neighbourhood watch
The newly appointed Provincial MEC of Mobility, Ricardo Mackenzie will join the VCP.
MEC Allen said: “I am looking forward to these engagements and activities. The Swartland K9 unit have been part of significant firearm and ammunition discoveries over the last few days, while the reaction unit have also made their presence felt in various ways. The successes that they are achieving is the very reason why we, as the Western Cape government invested in them. Our aim is to ensure greater safety throughout the entire province.”
All media are invited to attend.
We kindly request that neither saps nor the public be informed of the unannounced visit
