MEC Mrs Nombulelo Mabandla is on a housing mission in Kouga Municipality tomorrow to unveil a project site to build a home for 36 homeless children in Kouga Municipality. She will conclude her housing visit with a handover of newly built house to a bedridden mother with two children and an unemployed husband.
The plight of this family has prompted the provincial departments and a local construction company to provide immediate help for the struggling Jantjies family.
Some of the help provided include a newly built house by the department with modifications suitable for disabled person, with water and electricity.
Correctional services will install built in cupboards and wardrobes with their own material and labour. Thazhadi disaster management has donated with the building material for the house.
The department provided the family with a housing subsidy of R54 560 and an amount R11 120 00 for the installation of a ceiling and plastering. These activities will be held in Jeffrey’s bay tomorrow, 29 October 2009 starting at 09h00.
