As part of deepening democracy and promoting consultation with communities, the MEC for Roads and Transport, Mr Bheki Nkosi will attend an imbizo to be held on 21 October 2009 in Mamelodi, Tshwane.
The imbizo will commence after the Executive Council meeting has taken place with a briefing followed by a walk-about in and around Mamelodi Township. The programme will culminate with a public meeting at Stanza Bopape Community Hall at 17h00.
Izimbizo serve as a communication and interactive tool for the provincial executive to consult with ordinary communities and hear their first-hand challenges. They also afford communities with an opportunity to voice their needs, frustrations and problems regarding service delivery.
All Gauteng provincial government MECs are expected to attend and will participate in the programme.
