More than 300 needy older persons in Ekurhuleni will receive blankets and food parcels from Gauteng Health and Social Development MEC Ntombi Mekgwe tomorrow.
This is part of the Department’s winter project aimed making government services accessible and to alleviating poverty in disadvantage communities. The theme for the project is “Taking Care of our older people, restoring dignity”.
To promote healthy lifestyle amongst the people of Gauteng, health workers will be screening people for illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes and HIV/Aids.
