The MEC Gauteng Community Safety Ms Faith Mazibuko will on Tuesday, 13 September 2011, launch the Know Your Neighbourhood Campaign in Booysens in a bid to enhance;
- Neighbourhood Safety Networks
- Community Involvement
It is hoped that the campaign will go a long way in;
- Drastic reduction in three categories of crime ( house robberies, business robberies and vehicle hijacking )
- Create a platform for better dialogue between all people and communities
- Shared understanding within neighbourhoods
The event will commence with a walkabout, where the MEC accompanied by the Mayor, MMC, Cluster Commanders and Councillors and other dignitaries will interact with communities on issues of crime on the following areas between 14h00 - 16h30
- South Hills Flats Sector 6
- Bouquet Street Rosettenville Sector 5
- Hay Street Turfontein Sector 3
