The Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, will tomorrow, 7 December 2011, launch the Festive Season Plan with the aim of heightening awareness around road accidents and fatalities on Gauteng roads. The MEC will also announce the Zero Tolerance Strategy, particularly to the three main traffic violations:
- Excessive speeding;
- Driving under the influence of alcohol; and
- Reckless and negligent driving.
These traffic violations are punishable with immediate arrest.
