MEC Marawu to host mass memorial service for Cradock road accident victims

The MEC for Eastern Cape Transport Thandiswa Marawu will host a mass memorial service of the Cradock road accident victims at the Sirfontein School in Queenstown on 1 August 2012 at 10h00.

The accident happened on the R61 between Cradock and Graaff-Reinet when a minibus which was carrying school kids from Cape Town tried to overtake a bakkie and collided with a bus that is believed was going to Graaff-Reinet leaving 5 school kids dead and a ten year old boy amongst them and a driver in the bus 15 died.

All the bodies have been identified and removed to their respective towns around the province. MEC Marawu said “Road Accident Fund has played a major role in undertaking the burial costs i.e. removal of corpses from Graaff-Reinet, Storage, provision of coffins and handling.”
