The Eastern Cape Department of Education MEC, the honourable Mandla Makhuphula invites all members of the media to the announcement of the 2010 Provincial Senior Certificate Results to be held at the East London Institute at 09h00 on 6 January 2011.
During this event the MEC would also outline the departmental programme which will be followed to ensure that all schools needing“urgent situation" are equipped with necessary tools for teaching and learning, while “academic achievers” will be capped the same day in a gala dinner scheduled to honour them following the official release of the results. The ceremony for top achievers would be held at the International Convention Centre, Esplanade, East London at 18h00 on the same day (6 January 2011).
The MEC would also announce the date for the registration of the candidates who will be writing their supplementary examinations in 2011. The department hopes for improvements in the last year’s 51% pass rate in academic progress and achievements.
