Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC, Ms Sibongile Manana will outline the departmental 2009/10 financial year priorities in the form of the policy and budget speech. The presentation of the speech will dwell on the creation of safer communities in Mpumalanga and to ensure community participation in efforts to fight crime.

The MEC is also expected to reflect on the plans the department is embarking on in the current financial year.
Meanwhile, MEC Manana will hold a Safety and Security Imbizo in the Msukaligwa Municipality on Sunday, 16 August 2009 at 10h00 at the Mpumalanga Sports Ground in Wesselton.
The Imbizo will be used to strengthen existing partnerships between government and the community and to also mobilise communities
