Eastern Cape Education MEC, Mandla Makupula, will today oversee a handover ceremony of 11 specially designed buses to nine special schools from throughout the province.
Each bus is built according to unique specifications to be able to meet the requirements of each individual school’s requirements.
This is an annual top-up for all those special schools' whose fleet required additional stock to meet their learners' needs. This consignment of 11 buses cost R7.5 million.
The programme for the hand-over of buses to special schools this afternoon is as follows:
