Free State MEC for Education Tate Makgoe will on Thursday, September 6 hold a media briefing to outline the department’s readiness to deliver as successful Annual National Assessments (ANA) and grade 12 examinations.
It is less than 20 days to ANA which is scheduled to be written from 18-21 September 2012.
About 294 457 grade 1 to 6 and grade 9 learners will write ANA in the Free State. These tests will evaluate skills in literacy and numeracy of these learners.
The briefing will cover the state of readiness of each district, number of learners enrolled for 2012 grade 12 examinations, security management around examination and detailed report on curriculum support provided to schools.
The briefing will also be used as a platform to launch 2013 learner admission campaign and outline plan for textbook provision next year.
