The Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile, will launch the Provincial Netball-Magnificent Friday campaign on 10 June 2011 at Eldorado Park.
The campaign is aimed at mobilising communities to rally behind the national Netball team participating in the world championships from 3 to 10 July 2011 by wearing green and gold on Magnificent Fridays and flying the South African flag high.
“As we did with soccer and rugby I urge every Gauteng citizen to be united behind the team and cheer them as they compete for the world championships,” says MEC Maile.
The launch event will be marked by a range of activities including netball clinics, the fly-the-flag campaign and netball legends games against local teams.
