Housing MEC Mrs Nombulelo Mabandla, and a national delegation led by National Minister Tokyo Sexwale will visit housing projects in the Buffalo City area tomorrow as part of the programme for the housing MinMec held in the Buffalo City area. The visit seeks to conscientise the MECs and the national delegation about the progress on housing projects and challenges in the Buffalo City area. The visits will be done on Saturday, 22 August 2009.
Areas to be visited include Duncan Village where many people still reside in back yard dwellings and shacks, Reeston, a place where people have been relocated from shacks and backyard dwellings of Duncan Village and concluding the housing visits in Sweetwaters.
MinMEc brings together the MECs from each of the provinces and the national minister. It is a forum that provides broad agreement on the direction of policy, consensual definition of problems and policies.
