Limpopo MEC for Roads and Transport Pinky Kekana will officially launch the 2009 provincial October Transport Month Campaign at Meropa Casino in Polokwane on Monday, 5 October 2009.
The Transport Month campaign is an annual feature on the calendar of the Department of Transport and is one the platforms and vehicles through which the department engages directly with its stakeholders.
During the October Transport Month the department will be involved in a number of events to raise awareness of the important role of transport in the economy, and to invite participation from civic society and business, in providing a safer, more affordable, accessible and reliable transport system for the province.
During the launch of the campaign on Monday, MEC Kekana will deliver a keynote address at a provincial Taxi Driver of the Year function. The event, organised in partnership with Brandhouse, will also to be held at Meropa Casino.
