The MEC for the Ministry of Human Settlement, Safety and Liaison, Helen Sauls-August will close the 2011 February Safety and Security month with a number of activities in Port Elizabeth. She will present Community Policing Forum members with handsets to equip them for their day to day community policing duties at Gelvandale Track on 26 February 2011.
There will be a Safety Imbizo at the Gelvandale Track on 26 February 2011 which will be preceded by a march at 08h00 starting at Ibec Street and end off at the Track. This programme paves way for improved and broadened dialogue to overcome the scourge of gangsterism taking place in the Northern Areas. The Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropole will also attend the event.
