Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Honourable Ghishma Barry, will officially open a provincial workshop on the review and drafting of the National Road Safety and Establishment of Community Road Safety Forums this morning at King David Hotel in East London at 10h00.
This workshop, which is coordinated by the national Department of Transport and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), will be attended by various road safety stakeholders within the province, including government departments, business, traditional leaders, youth and women organisations.
At the end of the workshop, delegates are expected to elect a provincial coordinating structure. MEC Barry is expected to outline how these structures are going to work in the Eastern Cape province.
