MEC Ghishma Barry to meet Mzamba muti killings affected families

As part of her Women’s Month programme, Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison Ms Ghishma Barry will meet 11 families that were directly affected by last year’s Mzamba muti killings, at the Mbizana municipality offices tomorrow at 11h00.

The purpose of the meeting is to give feedback to the families with regard to the progress in the investigation of the cases. The meeting will be preceded by a briefing session with the South African Police Service (SAPS) task team involved in the investigation of the cases, mayor and councillors, officials from the National Prosecuting Authority, Department of Justice and Constitutional Development and the Department of Safety and Liaison.

At 10h00, the community will march from the Roman Catholic Church to Mbizana magistrate’s court, where MEC Barry will receive a petition relating to the investigation of the cases as the political head of the Eastern Cape Justice, Crime Prevention and Security cluster.
