As part of her 2009 October Transport Month campaign and imbizo focus week programme, Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Ghishma Barry will officially hand over 19 bicycles and a container to be used as a spares shop in Joubertina tomorrow at 10h00.
These new bicycles will be handed over to Joubertina Primary School and the container will be used to service all bicycles of the Shova Kalula Bicycle Project, which were previously distributed to Kareedouw, Misgund, Louterwater and Joubertina.
During the event, the Department of Transport will host an exhibition programme, where officials from various directorates and other government departments, including home affairs, health and social development will be rendering services.
MEC Barry will further take this opportunity to officially introduce 60 newly appointed household contractors, who will be maintaining low volume roads within the Koukama Municipality.
