Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Ghishma Barry, will address the taxi industry provincial conference to be held at Dan’s Conference Centre towards Tsolo tomorrow at 15h00.
“The Department of Transport in conjunction with the taxi industry had remained consistent in instilling a culture of democracy in driving taxi transformation initiatives. Executive structures of the taxi industry hold office for a determined period of time and give way to a newly elected democratic structure,” says MEC Barry.
She is further expected to outline government’s vision of the taxi industry and over arching intention to integrate it with other public transport modes.
