Gauteng MEC of Finance, Mr Mandla Nkomfe will host the Municipal Finance Indaba. The Indaba is the first step in addressing the challenge of financial management and service delivery within municipalities.
The indaba will focus on:
* budget framework and the annual financial statements for 2008/09
* supply chain management
* outline of current cash flow and projections towards the end of the financial year
* Gauteng Economic Recovery Summit resolutions and progress
The Municipal Finance Indaba will be attended by all Mayoral Committee Members responsible for finance in the municipalities, finance specialist from the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) and the Auditor-General.
