Hon MEC for Rural Development and Agrarian Reform Zoleka Capa cordially invites members of the media to join her as she will be distributing food parcels to destitute families and vulnerable people’s homes across the length and breadth of the Province.
This is part of the Zero Hunger and Poverty Alleviation programme which are championed by the MEC. This is aimed at ensuring that vulnerable and poor individuals, some of which don’t even know what a Christmas present is, get valuable foodstuff during the festive season.
While the gifts will not ensure food security, the Hon MEC will also give the communities and children’s homes different vegetable seedlings to produce their ownfood.
The MEC's journey of putting smiles in the people’s faces will start on Monday in Cartcarth and she will proceed to God’s Heart Desires children’s home in Mbekweni location in Berlin near Walter Sisulu University (WSU).
The donations will be done in partnership with Sovereign Foods, Tiger Brands and on 15 December we will partner with Umhlobo Wenene FM in Butterworth.
