Tomorrow, MEC Donald Grant will be visiting Rocklands High School to witness a classroom demonstration on the use of the notebook in teaching mathematics.
As part of our Maths and Science strategy, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) are delivering notebooks and a laptop trolley to each of our 48 Dinaledi Schools. The new technology will also be delivered to the 24 Maths and Science Incentive Schools.
Rocklands High School has been making full use of the notebooks for a month now, which are fitted with mathematics software. The notebooks allow learners to work through lesson plans themselves and, for instance, enable the learners to sketch graphs when dealing with geometry.
Tomorrow, MEC Grant will witness the use of this technology in enhancing the mathematics curriculum.
