Limpopo MEC for Agriculture, Ms Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba will be handing over a tractor to Leseding Centre for the Mentally Handicapped. The handing also includes agricultural equipment such as the plough, ridger, planter, ripper, and a trailer. The centre is situated in Sekhukhune District’s Makhuduthamaga Municipality, at Vergelegeng next to Jane Furse Hospital.
This empowerment will benefit about 70 beneficiaries who earn a living from the cash crops that they use for household consumption as well as selling to the community. The beneficiaries plant vegetables crops like onions, cabbage, spinach and others in a 10 hectare garden.
The MEC hopes this effort will improve the lives of the assisted group of people with disabilities. The initiative cost MEC Letsatsi-Duba’s Department about R623 000.00
