The Gauteng MEC for Education, Ms Barbara Creecy, will on Saturday, 8 January 2011 participate in a school cleaning campaign at Diepsloot Combined School together with community members of Diepsloot. The cleaning is part of the Back to School campaign for 2011. There will be a photo opportunity at 10h00.
On Sunday, the MEC will announce the state of readiness of Gauteng schools for the first day of schooling on 12 January 2011 at Reshomile Secondary School in Diepsloot. The MEC will also visit the first workshop on the role of parents in schooling at Reshomile. She will also launch the parental guideline booklet to explain to parents what they need to know in supporting their children at school.
