The MEC for the Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform Zoleka Cape has a pleasure of inviting members of media to a briefing about the department’s strategic direction.
Following the reconfiguration of the Cabinet, the MEC has been appointed as the province's 'Champion of poverty eradication' and she will be making a detailed briefing on how the province, led by her Department will assist in the eradication of poverty and underdevelopment.
The MEC will highlight strategies to be utilised by the provincial government in its bid to develop rural areas while putting the new mandate of agrarian reform into perspective.
The briefing will be a frank conversation between journalists and the MEC, who is passionate about rural development and agricultural activities, on how best the government, with the involvement of private sector and civil society can address economic growth in rural areas.
Members of the media are urged to share this moment with the MEC and the department’s top management as they dwell on the ways and means of supporting growth and development in our vastly rural province.
The MEC will be presenting her maiden Policy Speech in the Eastern Cape Legislature Chambers at 14h00 and members of the media will be given embargoed copies of the speech during the briefing.
