Management training for schools for visually impaired, deaf and hard of hearing learners

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) is hosting a national training workshop to equip 192 school management team members of 22 schools for visual impairment and 43 schools for hearing impairment with advanced management skills in these areas of specialisation. 88 provincial and district officials will also be part of the workshop in order to monitor and support targeted schools effectively.

The DBE is involving the main stakeholders in the field such as Braille South Africa, Blind South Africa, South African National Council for the Blind, the Orientation and Mobility College, Deaf Federation of South Africa (DEAFSA), Sign Language Education and Development (SLED), and selected Universities as partners in this initiative.
