Makgoe launches ‘Maths for All Campaign’

Free State Education MEC, Tate Makgoe will launch the provincial ‘Maths 4 All campaign’ on Monday, 12 September in Bloemfontein.

The purpose of the campaign is to encourage learners to choose pure mathematics as a subject and a career path. The campaign is informed by the research done by the department which indicates that 40% of learners opt for mathematical literacy at higher institutions.

Embarking on a mission to demystify pure mathematics, the department targets learners from grade seven to grade 12.

Through the crusade the department will instill the love of maths and galvanise the community and education stakeholders to motivate and encourage their children to study mathematics.

The theme for the campaign is ‘Maths for All Because You Can’.
