Free State Department of Education MEC, Tate Makgoe will on Thursday, 17 June 2010 launch the Mathematics, Natural Science, Technology and Accounting (MSTA) enrichment programme to further develop and retain learners interest in these learning areas.

The MSTA programme is aimed at grade 8 and 9 learners who never took part in such skills development initiative helping to demystify these learning areas and encouraging them to further study the subjects at higher institutions.

The development of the MSTA programme is a partnership between the Free State Department of Education and the University of Free State (UFS). The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Natural and Agricultural Science at the UFS will manage the implementation of the project.
