Members of the media are invited to the activation event for the “Magnificent Fridays” campaign to be held in Atteridgeville on 27 May. The event heralds the second leg of the campaign, which focuses on supporting the South Africa (SA) Netball Team in their venture to conquer the world in the 2011 World Netball Championships scheduled for Singapore from 3 to 10 July.

Activities of “Magnificent Fridays” will, amongst others be:
- Coaching clinics in Netball and distribution of sporting equipment
Magnificent Fridays campaign is an initiative of the Department of Sport and Recreation South Africa intended to galvanise the entire nation to stand behind their sports heroes and heroines to help them achieve their best in the respective international tournaments scheduled for 2011.
The first leg of the campaign saw the country supporting the National Cricket Team. The third leg will be in support of the National Rugby Team that will be participating at the Rugby World Cup later this year. South African Citizens are encouraged to wear their T-shirts/ replica jerseys for Netball or any National Team every Friday in support of the campaign.
