The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will be hosting the Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE) 15km Road Race in celebration of 15 years of hosting this prestigious festival.
The Road Race is the new addition to the festival, adding more to the sport content of MACUFE. Other sporting events within MACUFE include Golf and the Soccer Cup tournament.
The Road Race will be staged as follows:
Date: 06 October 2012
Time: 06h30 (Road Race) 06h45 (Fun run/ walk)
Venues: Starting at Andre Huguenot Theatre
Ending at Old Grey Sports Grounds
Theme: Promoting Healthy Lifestyle
1000 participants are targeted for participation in the Road Race. At stake is prize money of R10, 000 for both male and female runners who win the Road Race. Other cash prizes for position 2 to 10 will be awarded.
There will also be lucky draws at the Fun Run/Walk with several prizes to be won.
