The Minister of Energy, Ms Dipuo Peters will address a conference (stakeholders) on Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG). The conference is organised by the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa. The theme of the conference is “safe energy for 2010.”
The purpose of the conference is to create a greater awareness of the benefits of using LPGas as the suitable alternative energy. It has a role to play in the energy efficiency mix, especially in the current climate where electricity is in short supply and the costs of using it escalating. LPGas is used extensively; world wide and we need to inform the consumers about the benefits of using it.
The main focus is to ensure that the best industry practices will be maintained around LPGas usage around tournaments and events. With the current energy crisis, LP Gas is the ideal alternative energy, with high efficiency and low Co2 emissions.
The outcome is to see all South Africans converting safely from cooking with electricity, to using LPGas.
Members of the media are invited to attend this conference.
