Summit Declaration

Venue: Tshipise Forever Resort
Young people from all corners of the province met in Tshipise under the theme “Youth beneficiation in the economic transformation agenda, in our life time”. We met with the sole intention to change and transform the current pattern of the economic beneficiation and transformation of the entrepreneur system.
We as the youth spoke in one voice that there is no future without us imputing to it , that we are not happy with the current economic pattern, it needs to change and change for good.
We also agreed that the land of this country and its underneath deposits should be put under the hands of the state so that the state can be able to have muscle to accelerate development without any challenges.
We further made commitments:
- On mining: That mining sector should play a central role in youth development.
- On agriculture: That we mobilise young to participate in agricultural activities to safeguard food security.
- On tourism: That we engage the state to take the leading role in ensuring beneficiation opportunities.
- On skills development: That we mobilise the state and private sector to maximise their role in skills development of young people in line with the LEDGP.
- On enterprise development: That we commit to mobilise young people to participate in enterprise development. We call upon the Provincial Government and Private sector to ensure that they put a minimum target of 45% in Procurement and employment of young people.
