Limpopo Provincial Government welcomes the new Miss South Africa, Ms Bokang Montjane

The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Cassel Mathale invites people of the province to the provincial homecoming celebration of Ms Bokang Montjane (24) scheduled to be held on 18 December 2010 at the Polokwane Cricket Club during the Mapungubwe music festival.

The provincial homecoming celebration will be attended by Members of the Executive Council, the Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality, Cllr Freddy Greaver, the Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Laurence Mapoulo, senior government officials, the current Miss Limpopo and other ladies who were previously crowned Miss Limpopo.

On the day of the event, Ms Bokang Montjane will, among others, be aboard an open double deck bus that will lead a motorcade around the streets of Polokwane. At around 12:00, she is scheduled to interact with well wishers at the Savannah Mall. Thereafter, Ms Montjane and the provincial delegation will proceed to the Library Gardens where she is expected to interact with members of the community for thirty minutes starting at about 12:30. She will be at the Limpopo Mall at 13:15 before going to Seshego Plaza at 14:00. The community of Piniana Park, where Ms Montjane originates, will interact with here at 15:15 before the delegation goes to the Polokwane Cricket club where she is scheduled to be officially welcomed to the province by Premier Mathale.

Ms Montjane has an illustrious modelling career that saw her win Miss Limpopo Teen 2004, Miss University of Johannesburg 2006, Miss Earth 2007, Miss Face of Eastgate 2010 and Miss Rivonia 2010. She is a former Capricorn High School learner who at the moment holds a diploma in Public Relations. “We are proud of the achievement of Ms Bokang Montjane who was crowned Miss South Africa 2011 recently and it is befitting that we should organise a heroin’s welcome for her in the province.

Her support of government’s efforts against the scourge of teenage pregnancy is appreciated. We maintain that she is a worthy role model to be emulated by other young people” said Mathale.
