Limpopo launches Human Resource Development Council, 5 Mar

The Limpopo Provincial Government will launch the Limpopo Human Resource Development Council (LHRDC) in alignment with the Human Resource Development Council of South Africa (HRDCSA) to substantially develop the skills which will support social and economic development of this province. The Limpopo Human Resource Development Council (LHRDC) will be spearheaded by the Premier of Limpopo, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha.

The Premier fully endorsed the notion of human resource development to build-up the necessary skills required in Limpopo province during the State of the Province Address (SoPA). “The Human Resource Development Council will be advising the provincial government on matters related to skills development “, said Premier Mathabatha.

Admittedly, the principal aim of this initiative is to ensure coordination, alignment, integration, communication, collaboration, implementation and reporting on HRD imperatives in support of the Limpopo Development Plan (LDP) focusing on human resource and skills development as well as Local Economic Development Plans.

The Provincial Human Resource Development Council is tasked with providing information in terms of progress, challenges and interventions regarding skills development in the province.

The rationales of establishing Limpopo Human Resource Development Council are to:

  • set a platform at a high level for engagement with key stakeholders, in terms of skills development.
  • afford the Premier a strategic opportunity on a quarterly basis to address challenges and bottlenecks relating to human resource capital in the province.

The Human Resource Development Council will be launched as follows:
