Limpopo Health MEC, Dikeledi Magadzi to open Thabazimbi Wellness Centre in Thabazimbi, Limpopo

In an effort to improve access to health the Limpopo Health MEC, Dikeledi Magadzi, will on Saturday, 11 February 2012, officially open doors of a fully equipped Thabazimbi wellness Centre and Clinic as built and donated by Anglo American, Thabazimbi Mine to benefit the mining community and the people/residents of Thabazimbi.

The state-of-the art wellness centre which is expected to deliver among others HIV counselling and treatment (HCT), management of chronic conditions, cancer screening and various wellness programmes will be officially handed over to the Limpopo Health MEC Dikeledi Magadzi by management of Thabazimbi Mine at a function at the centre for use by members of the community and mine employees as part of the mine's contribution to build a long and healthy life for all.

"We are grateful that Kumba Thabazimbi mine has seen need to invest in health as we both believe that a healthy employee is a productive employee. We can only hope that members of the community will not only use the facility for the benefit of their health but also guard it jealously against any form of vandalism or theft," Magadzi said.
