Limpopo Executive Council meets the people

The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Cassel Mathale, will lead his entire Executive Council to meet the people of Sekhukhune at Penge Sport Ground, Tubatse Municipality in Sekhukhune District on 23 October 2009. The event will start at 09h00. The visit is part of a series of scheduled outreach programmes conducted by the provincial government such as those which were held at Muyexe in Mopani district, Ga-Kgatla in Capricorn District and Lwamondo in Vhembe District over the past two months.

Underpinning these visits is an effort by the provincial government to solicit the buy-in of the people of Limpopo into the five years service delivery plan that was outlined by Premier Cassel Mathale during his State of the Province Address, on 11 June 2009.

These visits will further create a platform for communities to make inputs into the implementation of the service delivery plan and ultimately hold the government accountable on its mandate. The programme will also afford people a unique platform to interact with their leadership and to advice on better ways of carrying out their electoral mandate of creating a decent work, providing quality education and primary healthcare, rural development, ensuring food security, land reform and above all, the fight against crime and corruption.

“The Executive Council will have a better sense of the service delivery progress over the past 15 years of democratic rule and also the challenges faced by the new administration so that we can bring about interventions,” said Limpopo Premier, Cassel Mathale.
