A fully-furnished modern 3-bedroomed house will be handed over to the Seabi family at Mohlonong Village (Ga-Mshashane) in Aganang Local Municipality, thanks to a life changing partnership between the Limpopo Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, and Limpopo South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), through the Celebrity – Build-a-House campaign which has done nothing but changed many lives since the collaboration.
The initiative is part of the national wide “Media Build” project, which seeks to strengthen the public private partnership), where members of the media fraternity together with officials of the national and provincial Department of Human Settlements build a house for selected beneficiaries.
Housing the poor through partnership with active role players has seen more and more poor getting houses, security and comfort. The family, headed by Ms Francinah, a widow who survives on a social grant, has been sharing a one roomed shack with six other dependents for so long and getting such help couldn’t have come at a better time.
