The Free State Education MEC, Tate Makgoe will address 200 grade nine learners from rural areas during the English, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Technology and Accounting (EMSTA) programme taking place on Thursday, 30 June 2011.
The purpose is to encourage learners to choose EMSTA subjects.
The expected outcome is to demystify these subjects enabling learners to study science in higher institutions. Identified learners are from Motheo and Lejweleputswa districts, selected from 13 schools and are the second cohorts to take part in this programme. Last year the department focused on other districts.
The programme ends on Tuesday, 5 July 2011.
