The Department of Energy is conducting the career guidance programme known as the Learners Focus Week in Energy. The programme targets learners who are studying mathematics and science at high school level and encourages them to pursue careers in the engineering field at Universities and Colleges of Further Education and Training.
The Deputy Minister of Energy, Ms Barbara Thompson, will host the awards dinner on Thursday 14 July 2011, through which she will be giving awards to deserving learners in the province. The Minister will be will be joined by the MEC for Education, and the Ethekwini Municipality Mayor.
The event is organised as follows:
