Launch of Women's Month

The Minister for Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Ms Lulu Xingwana will hold a media briefing at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Sunday, 31 July to launch the programme for August Women’s Month.

This year, the programme for Women's Month will focus primarily on economic empowerment of women. The programme emphasises the role of women as equal partners in the economic, social and cultural development of society and will seek to unite South Africans to end economic marginalisation of women. The highlight of the month is the observation of the National Women’s Day on 9 August.

Minister Xingwana is expected to be accompanied by Ministers representing various clusters of government.
