Time: 09h30 to 11h00

Prompted by the dire need to mainstream women in the SET sector, Facing the Facts 2009 follows on a similar study done in 2004 and provides key highlights of the trends regarding the numbers of women participating in the sector between 2000 and 2005.
The study further details areas where women's participation has shown marked improvement as well as areas that still warrant immediate interventions to fast-track gender equity in the country.
Facing the Facts was commissioned by the Science, Engineering and Technology for Women (SET4W), a subcommittee of the National Advisory Council on Innovation (NACI) established to advise the Ministry of Science and Technology on issues related to gender issue.
Copies of the book will be available at the launch.
