Launch of the second national youth risk behaviour survey results

Minister in the Presidency, Collins Ohm Chabane will deliver a keynote address at the launch of the second national youth risk behaviour survey results tomorrow.

The survey was conducted by the Medical Research Council among 10 000 grade 8 to 11 learners in 2008. The survey investigated health risk behaviours like violence, substance use, risky sexual practices, unhealthy eating habits and physical inactivity among young people.

The findings of the survey reflect the prevalence of a range of behaviours that place young people at risk and should inform future interventions and policy development.
